Course Details

Innovation management guides an organization in response to opportunities, whether internal or external. This course will address innovation in the front end of product commercialization and public-service provision. Through lectures and case studies, we will explore innovation concepts, tools and methods as they apply to products, processes and services. Topics include: defining strategic problems; the generation and selection of ideas; scientific methods for accelerating discovery and test hypotheses; the customer or stakeholder voice; product portfolio planning; and product architecture.

This course qualifies for 36 professional development units (PDUs).

Learner Outcomes

  • Understanding of innovation concepts as they apply to products, processes and services
  • Understanding of the tools and techniques for managing front-end commercialization and provision
