Course Details

When we hear a lecture, news broadcast, conversation or song, our listening skills allow us to actively evaluate information. This course is designed to develop critical listening skills and strategies that will help you understand and remember spoken English more effectively. Course-learning activities are based on situations you will encounter in daily life, at work and at university.

Learner Outcomes

  • Increased awareness of the power and value of listening strategies
  • Use knowledge of spoken discourse to enhance listening skills
  • Learn to be an active listener
  • Evaluate and assess as you listen in order to understand and remember more effectively
  • Prerequisites

    For non-native speakers of English. A high-intermediate to advanced level of proficiency in spoken English.
