This first course in the Facility Management Certificate covers key areas of the discipline's body of knowledge, including the typology of facilities, building systems and the associated built environment; the basic concepts of real estate and property management; and the regulatory and legal dimensions of facilities management.
You will also learn basic concepts behind the financing, operations and maintenance of facilities, as well as the issues related to facility management in different organizations. A review of strategic planning, project management, technological innovation, quality improvement and risk management round out your introduction to the foundations of facility management. .
This course qualifies for 36 professional development units (PDUs).
