This course will teach you all the basics of house or condo buying and help you avoid expensive mistakes. The instructor is an independent personal finance expert from outside the real estate industry. You'll learn how to:

  • Choose the right type of house or condo and best location for you in the current market
  • Estimate the real upfront and ongoing costs of ownership
  • Calculate how much you can afford
  • Hire the professional help you need
  • Read a house/condo inspection report and understand its limitations
  • Finance your purchase - down payments, mortgages and more 
  • Deal with the special issues involved in buying a condo
  • Complete the purchasing process
  • Survive the first year of house/condo ownership
  • Avoid common pitfalls of rookie home buyers
