Thank you for your interest in this Upskilling for Inclusive Excellence Program offered through the University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies.
Please note this grant is intended for Black Canadians (Canadian Citizens, Permanent Residents, and Protected Persons) who have been unemployed for up to three (3) years or are currently underemployed (i.e. I possess higher knowledge, skills, and abilities than required for my current position/job).
To proceed with your grant application, please provide the documentation listed below:
- A copy of government-issued identification. Submit one piece of identification as outlined in the province of Ontario’s Acceptable Identity Documents guidelines.
- Statement of Interest (500 to 800 words maximum).
- Current Resume
- References (Minimum two: one personal, one professional)

- This program grant is considered a taxable benefit and as such you will receive a T4A slip from the University. In addition to the documentation indicated above, in order to obtain a T4A you will be required to provide your SIN documentation as well.
Please do not upload any SIN documentation to this application form. If you are invited to register into this course, our office will provide instructions on how best to submit this documentation.
Please note that failure to provide this documentation will impact your application towards this program at the University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies.

Applications will be reviewed by an Awards Committee and adjudication will be based on the grant criteria and funds availability. Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application in early August 2025.
- Please note that space in this course is limited. We encourage all interested participants to complete their application by the indicated deadline to be considered.
The application deadline is Sunday July 13th, 2025 at 11:59 PM. Incomplete applications or late submissions will not be accepted or considered.
