0914 - Advanced Financial Accounting
Course Description
If you already have some background in finance, accounting or auditing, this course will take you deeper inside complex business entities. You'll learn how partnerships, corporations and foreign currency transactions work and how to analyze consolidated financial statements. You'll learn more about six principal areas of advanced financial accounting: standard-setting in Canada and internationally, financial instruments and income tax allocation, long-term inter-corporate investments, consolidation, foreign currency translation and the translation and consolidation of foreign subsidiaries, and not-for-profit and public-sector accounting.
