Course Description

This course is designed for those who have obtained competency in accounting principles. You will delve deeper into the concepts of financial reporting and analysis. You will examine topics including cash and receivables, inventory investments, property, as well as intangible assets and goodwill.
 
This fourteen-week online course features both synchronous learning activities, such as weekly webinars, and asynchronous learning components, such as practice questions and assignments.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understand Generally Accepted Accounting Principles; concepts, assumptions and guidelines; recording and interpretation of financial statements.
  • Acquire knowledge of the use of analytical tools such as financial-ratio analysis, and the interpretation of financial information.

Webinar dates: Tuesdays 6PM-7:30PM ET.

Please note, there are independent learning activities in this online course including: reviewing the presentation slides, reading the relevant chapter(s) and completing a quiz prior to the weekly webinars. The webinars are intended to provide interaction with the instructor to review the key concepts covered in the required chapter readings and discussing practical example(s). There is time dedicated at the end of the webinar session for learners to ask clarifying questions. After the webinar, there is the opportunity to then apply the information learned by completing an assignment.
