2010 - Human Resources Planning
Course Description
This course introduces the strategic planning role that human resources professionals play in organizations. You'll learn how to forecast, plan and allocate resources according to strategy. You'll also learn to conduct job analyses, forecast demand for and supply of human resources and institute a succession management program. Other topics include retention, downsizing and restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, outsourcing and human resources program and policy evaluation. The course will also cover quantitative and qualitative concepts, methods, approaches and techniques related to human resources planning.

- Know the environmental factors that influence strategic choice.
- Predict the demand for and supply of employees.
- Outline the options and effective techniques for succession management and labour shortages and surpluses.
- Describe the human resources implications of strategic decisions.
