Course Description
Learn how to manage a project from initial assessment through final report within a healthcare setting. In this course, you will acquire skills that help you gauge every project aspect, from time and budget to procurement and communication. You will explore ten (10) Knowledge Areas and five (5) Process Groups from the PMBOK® Guide and use what you learn to engage stakeholders, define objectives, develop a project charter and create a detailed plan. You will also learn how to identify, evaluate, and prioritize project risks, as well as develop response strategies.
Learning Outcomes
- Define the Project Life Cycle and differenciate between key Project Phases, Process Groups and Knowledge Areas
- Plan and execute important project milestones including: identifying and engaging stakeholders, defining project objectives and scope, preparing a project charter, and creating a project plan to successfully initiate work.
- Define key concepts and techniques for schedule management
- Define and practice key strategies for budget and quality management in order to meet objectives on time and within budget
- Identify and describe tools and techniques for human resource management and communications
- Identify and discuss unique qualities and context of project management within the heathcare system.
