Course Description

Examine the techniques used in great works of literature and understand how they can be incorporated into your own writing. This course will help you explore approaches to style through description, dialogue, character, transitions, image patterns, rhythm and sound.

En este curso los interesados examinarán las técnicas utilizadas en las grandes obras literarias, a fin de comprender cómo es posible incorporarlas a su propia escritura.  Este curso les ayudará a explorar cómo abordar diferentes estilos literarios a través de la descripción, los diálogos, los personajes, las transiciones, los patrones que siguen las imágenes, el ritmo y el sonido.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understanding of the stylistic techniques used by great authors.
  • Ability to apply this learning to your own writing.
  • Knowledge of writing techniques, including description, dialogue, character, rhythm and sound.
Objetivos del curso:
  • Comprender las técnicas estilísticas utilizadas por grandes autores.
  • Desarrollar la habilidad de poner en práctica este conocimiento al momento de escribir textos propios.
  • Obtener conocimientos relacionados con técnicas de escritura, incluyendo la descripción, el diálogo, el personaje, el ritmo y el sonido.

Prerequisites

Students must be fluent in Spanish.

Recommendations

All levels of writing experience are welcome. Please note that this course is the exact equivalent of 1695 - Creative Writing through Reading offered in English, and therefore it will count as a credit towards the Certificate in Creative Writing for those Spanish-speaking people who wish to pursue it, but are not comfortable enough writing or reading in English.
