Course Description
This five day intensive workshop will help you 'think like an editor' and apply that new perspective to your memoir or novel. Each class will examine one to two components of story: character, setting, plot, point of view, voice, dialogue, beginnings, endings and structure. Each class will also workshop student works-in-progress.
Summer Writing School courses are applicable to the Certificate in Creative Writing.
Learning Outcomes
- Understand what makes fiction/creative nonfiction work
- Apply constructive criticism to both your own and others' work
- Develop a tip sheet for editing yourself
- Get advice on submitting your finished manuscript to agents/publishers
