Course Description

A memoir is a story only the writer can tell. If you want to write a memoir, whether for publication or as a personal record, this intensive course is for you. You'll learn the skills necessary and emerge with a polished chapter of your own story. Part of the U of T Summer Writing School, it's your chance to work with a celebrated author and meet a community of writers working in many genres.

Summer Writing School courses are applicable to the Certificate in Creative Writing.

Learning Outcomes

  • Write and polish a chapter of your memoir.
  • Select personal stories that would make good reading.
  • Develop tools and techniques that will help you outline a story.
