Course Description

Management is a part of many engineering careers and a path for career growth. This course is designed for learners seeking leadership knowledge with this comprehensive Engineering Management course. Learners will gain the critical knowledge and skills necessary to excel in technical leadership roles. This course transcends the purely technical, equipping learners to master people management, project execution, and resource allocation within technical environments. You'll learn about the specific management and leadership skills engineers need to navigate research and development, design, and manufacturing processes. Furthermore, the course empowers learners to apply management theories to real-world engineering challenges, gaining a deeper understanding of how these practices impact project success. The course is structured for success, beginning with a foundation in leadership and general management principles. Next, learners will delve into the specifics of managing engineering projects, encompassing R&D, design, and manufacturing processes. Canadian Engineers and firms make economic decisions according to norms and standards that reflect not only on strictly technical decisions but also taking into account Canadian values and considerations of environmental concerns, social responsibility and cultural diversity. Finally, the course explores the crucial areas of engineering ethics and emerging trends, ensuring learners stay ahead of the curve.

This course offers engineering knowledge that participants may consider for their continuous professional development needs. As well, if you are required to pass the professional engineering examination in Engineering Management to get a P.Eng. license in Canada, this course will improve your chances. Case studies and reviews of past exams will build your knowledge and confidence.
