Course Description
Launch or advance your career in records and information management (RIM) with this foundation course. You’ll learn about the latest technologies, practices and tools used to properly create, store and retrieve records and information. You’ll explore core information management concepts that can be applied across an enterprise to make decision-making and operations more efficient. You’ll learn about national and international standards and important governance and compliance issues. You’ll emerge with a fundamental grasp of RIM terminology and technologies that apply to records in hard-copy and electronic formats.Learning Outcomes

Oriana Sharp is the Manager, Information Management and Archives for the Region of Waterloo since 2004. She manages all operational functions of the information management, access and privacy, open data archives and electronic document management programs.. Her other professional experience includes work with the International Development Research Centre, several archival institutions, including Library and Archives Canada and she was a part-time instructor at George Brown College in the Archival Practices program for several years. She has delivered several lectures on many aspects of the Information Management field. Oriana is currently a Board Member at large with the ARMA Southwestern Ontario Chapter.
